REVELATION SESSION 5
Sister Shelbia opened the session with prayer.
Chapter 12 -
THE COSMIC BATTLE/THE CONFLICT OF THE AGES The first six verses of chapter 12 is a flash back designed to help us understand what revelation is about.
Rev 12:1-6
1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
-Satan tried to stop the first coming of the Lord; and he will try to stop the second coming of the Lord as well.
-In John’s vision, we see the woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet. She is crowned with 12 stars.
-the woman is about to give birth. A red dragon, (satan) with 7 heads, 10 horns and 7 crowns appears and casts 1/3 of the stars of heaven to earth. The dragon then tries to devour the woman’s male child.
-The male child (Jesus), was caught up to God and is in heaven, waiting to rule over all the nations with a rod of iron.
-God originally gave dominion of the earth to man, until Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit from the tree. Satan is the ruler of this world now, but Jesus will reclaim dominion over the earth when he returns.
-This imagery comes out of Joseph’s dream (Genesis 37), where the sun and moon and the eleven stars made obeisance (refers to a specific gesture of submission or respect, such as a bow or prostration. More generally, it can mean deference, respectfulness,)… to Joseph.
Old Testament passages related to Revelation:
Genesis 37:9-11
Rev 12:7-9
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
In this passage, we are in the middle of the tribulation and satan tries to take over Christs throne, which results in war in heaven.
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
-Satan loses the battle and is cast down to earth with his angels.
-Satan realizes his time is short - and he knows Bible prophesy. Satan has deceived himself and thinks he can defeat Jesus.
Satan:
-gives antichrist his power and throne on earth.
-will stop the sacrifices in the new Jewish temple and set up a statute of himself.
-will declare himself to be god.
-Jews will rebel against this and antichrist will be bent on killing all Jews.
-Satan hates the Jews with passion because they gave us the Bible and Jesus.
-Satan decides to make war on anyone who keeps the commandments of God. This war will be much worse that Hitler’s war on Jews.
-God has promised a great number of Jews will repent in the Tribution and Satan doesn’t want that promise fulfilled. When this happens, the Jews will go into the wilderness, (thought to be Petra) where they will be protected for 3.5 years. The antichrist will conquer all the areas except Petra and 2 other areas.
Old Testament passages related to Revelation:
Genesis teaches that history had a definite beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the plant and animal kingdoms, and mankind. Revelation reveals that history will also have a definite ending.
Genesis 1:1-31
Chapter 13 and 14 - THE UNVEILING OF THE ANTICHRIST and ANTICHRIST, THE FALSE MESSIAH
THE REVELATION OF ANTICHRIST (Rev 13:1-10)
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 (satan gives his power to the anti-Christ).
“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
-The anti-christ is satans’ agent. He will come out of the sea. Antichrist will be a gentile. He will come from the people that destroyed the Roman’s, so he will be of Roman decent.
-Blasphemy will come from the beast, who uses his power and authority to make war on the Jews.
-The anti-Christ becomes the first true object of worldwide worship.
-The Jewish people will become outlaws. They will be hunted down like animals. Most will be killed.
THE REVELATION OF THE FALSE PROPHET (Rev 13:11-18)
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
-Another beast rises from the earth. (The land/earth is a symbol for Israel). This is the false prophet who serves as anti-Christ’s right-hand man. He carries out political and religious decisions/activities. He sees that everyone worships the anti-christ. He gives life to a statue of anti-christ.
-All mankind must take the name of 666 or they can’t sell or buy supplies. The mark will be in their right hand or forehead.
-The false prophet will argue in the name of tolerance that there are many roads to Christ. He tells them they can pray to whatever god they please as long as they accept the anti-christ as their God.
Old Testament passages related to Revelation:
Isaiah 24:2, 20
2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
-During the last half of the tribulation the earth will be laid waste and spoiled by the anti-Christ and the false prophet.
-The false messiah is the false prophet who persuades people to follow and worship anti-Christ.
Chapter 14 – A PREVIEW OF COMING EVENTS DURING THE TRIBULATION PERIOD.
-We are given a flash forward to assure us that we will succeed.
-The first angel comes forth and preaches the gospel to everyone on earth. (The Lord sends this angel because he does not want anyone to be lost. He wants them to have every opportunity to be saved!)
Rev 14: 6 & 7
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Matthew 24 (The gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world).
A second angel is sent -
Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
A third angel is sent to tell people not to worship the anti-Christ or receive the mark.
14:9-14
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
Sinners are cast into the great wine press of the wrath of God.
14:15-20
15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
Chapter 15 - ANTICHRIST, THE DEFEATED MESSIAH –
The final stage of tribution. Wrath of God is finished.
-The 7 plagues
15:1-9
1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:
6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
-Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (We redeemed are guaranteed protection from the wrath of God).
This is an indication that the church will be taken out of the world before this begins.
Chapter 16 - THE FINAL JUDGMENT OF GODS WRATH
-1st judgement - Those that have the mark of the best or worship him will have significant sores (could be from nuclear war)
-2nd the Sea becomes filled with blood and every living thing dies
-3rd the rivers and fountains of water become blood
-4th judgement results in the sun being multiplied in heat that scorches man with fire
-5th produces darkness in the kingdom of the beast and people blasphemy God and do not repent of their sin
-6th dries up Euphrates river and China (kings from the east) can walk over the land
-7th pours out a vial into the air; a great earthquake happens and islands and mountains could not be found, tremendous hail from heaven.
Chapter 17 - THE APOSTATE CHURCH
-The harlet represents the apostate and corrupt church.
-The church will rally people to support anti-Christ.
-People will be drunk with the blood of saints and witnesses of Jesus.
-The harlet will persecute Christians. -She will be portrayed as riding on back of anti-Christ.
-Because she is enamored with power, the anti-Christ replaces her with the false prophet.
Chapter 18 - THE DESTRUCTION OF THE POLITICAL SYSTEM ON EARTH.
-Angel announces expending doom coming.
-Destruction is swift, occurring in 1 hour.
-As anti-christ, the capital city and other system weep and mourn in despair,
Chapter 19 - JESUS THE MIGHTY WARRIOR
Verse 19:11 - (description of bridge groom)
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
-The door in heaven opens and Jesus comes out riding on a white horse. The armies in heaven are following him on white horses. These are the people described in verse 8 = the bride of the church.
-The church is depicted as being in heaven with Jesus.
-Jesus is coming to judge and wage war against the earth. He will rule with a rod of iron.
-The Battle of Armageddon - describes the Lord defeating the anti-Christ. Jesus doesn’t battle - he simply speaks a word which results in anti-Christ and his forces being destroyed.
-The anti-Christ will be slain with the breath of The Lord. All that will remain will be the bones
And blood of these people - blood as deep as horse’s bridle for 200 miles. Food for the vultures.
Verse 19:17 - 21 (describes the battle of Armageddon - where the Lord speaks a word and the devil’s army will be destroyed)
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
-Your fate depends on whether you put your faith in Lord Jesus or not.
2 Thessalonians: 1-17
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
Chapter 20 - JESUS IS READY TO BEGIN HIS REIGN ON EARTH.
The Lord has defeated satan -
-so he binds satan into the abyss for 1000 years.
-the redeemed will reign with Jesus for 1000 years.
-satan and his angels will not be able to roam the earth for 1000 years.
Old Testament passages related to Revelation:
Daniel 7: 18-27 says who will rule with Jesus.
18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Old Testament passages related to Revelation:
Isaiah 2:1-4
1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Matthew 19:28-
28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Saints during church age.
Rev 2:
1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Rev 20 - (THE TRIBULATION MARTYRS)
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Who will the redeemed be ruling over? A small number of Jews and gentiles that live until the end of tribulation.
-During the Millennium, some of us will serve as administrators, some serve as teachers, based on their faithfulness. It will be our responsibility to bring each person born during the 1000 year millennium to salvation. Others will serve as judges. The offices of priest and king will be combined in Jesus!
Old Testament passages related to Revelation:
Ezekiel 20:1-27
1 Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.
3 And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:
4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.
5 Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.
6 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.
7 For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
8 That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.
9 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.
10 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
11 Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.
12 She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.
13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.
14 I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.
15 Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
16 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
17 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
19 And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?
20 Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.
22 And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.
23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.
24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
25 Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,
26 That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?
27 In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Luke 19:11-27
11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
Old Testament passages related to Revelation:
Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Rev 20:7 - And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison to expose men’s hearts.
-We who will be in glorified bodies will rule over those that are in fleshly bodies. Jesus will rule from Jerusalem.
-We will be scattered all over the globe. Life spans will return to what they were in the Garden of Eden - the entire 1000 years. The earth will experience a great population explosion because there will be no death. Most likely, there will be more people on earth than has ever been before.
-You may think everyone will accept Jesus during the millennial reign, but remember, Jesus was here before. He fed people, cared for them, taught them, and healed them; and people nailed him to a cross.
-We are born to a sin nature - all satan does is multiply sin.
-Jesus will use the millennium to prove the way to change the world is to change society. Evil is rooted into the fallen nature of man. God will put all of mankind in a perfect environment for 1000 years, but satan will convince people to rebel against Jesus. Why?
-Think about Jesus ruling during the millennium with a rod of Iron. Any attempt to sin will be met with swift justice. Man will say ‘they praise you Jesus, but they will have rebellion in their hearts.’
-Satan will be let lose at the end of 1000 years; and man will be awful again. Hearts being changed can only happen when a person allows Jesus in their hearts.
-God will resurrect everyone and judge those that are not saved at the great white throne by their works for eternity. Only those who are not saved will experience the second death.
Chapter 21 - THE ETERNITY
We will live our lives on the new earth
Rev 21:3 - And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (God burns up all the old earth and reshape it like a new planet cause it was polluted by satans evilness.)
Chapter 22 - GLORIOUS PROMISES
22:4 - And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
(We shall see Gods face. We are going
to serve the Lord eternally)
22:6 - And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. (Things to do while we wait for God)
22:9 - Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
22:18 - For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
22:12 - And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
-He will reward every man based on what he has done
-Believers will be judged at the time of the rapture
-Non believers will be judged at the white throne judgment
Rev 22:20 - He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. God will come down to the new earth and live among us:
-The new Jerusalem will be 1500 miles in every direction:
-Gates will be giant pearls
-the Shikana Glory of God will illuminate the city.
-River of water of life will flow from God.
-There will be no curse; creation will be restored to the perfection God intended when he first made the earth.
-We will live eternally with God in new Jerusalem on earth.
-22:4 - we shall see God’s face.
22:6 - focus shifts and God returns again. Blessed is he who hears and heeds the words of this book.
22:9 - worship God
22:10 - don’t seal up words of prophet
22:18 - protect integrity of Gods word
22:12 - Jesus repeats promise that I AM COMING QUICKLY. He adds a warning - I will award every man according to what he has done.
-Believers will be judged at time of rapture; Unbelievers will be judged at white throne judgment.
-We will have various degrees of reigning after judgment.
-Jesus left us with a glorious promise - a promise to return soon.
John cried out, MARANTHA! Means Lord come quickly!
